Thank you for inviting me to the founding of the Italian national association
for the therapeutic use of Cannabis.
It would have been a great
pleasure for me to be a part of this historic moment in the history of cannabis as a
medicine. Sometime in the not too distant future cannabis will be
recognized as a remarkable medicine, remarkable because of its unusually limited
toxicity, the fact that it will be so inexpensive when the prohibition
tariff is removed, and because of its usefulness in the treatment of so many
symptoms and syndromes.
The Italian national association for the therapeutic use of
Cannabis will be seen as having played a significant role in this new
understanding of this plant. Thousands of unknown patients will feel a
debt of gratitude to the ACT for the measure of relief cannabis will bring
to their suffering.
My very best wishes to all of you who are involved in this
important endeavor.
